Prince Neptune: The Label is an eco-conscious fashion brand designed and founded by Cody Simpson. Conceived with the planet and people in mind, Prince Neptune: The Label implores environmentally sustainable practices and materials across each step of the operation. From the design and fabric considerations - to factory ethics and manufacturing processes - right through to the packaging and distribution services, the brand is intentionally eco-considered to conserve our planet’s resources.

Cody Simpson works with Australian-based fashion agency Slyletica to bring his creative vision to life. For the first collection we have partnered with a CSR award-winning factory in India which makes organic fabrics, colours certified free from azo and heavy metals, using oxygen bleach instead of chlorine bleach, and follows organic dyeing and printing standards.

Prince Neptune: The Label uses organic cotton locally sourced from farmers where it is made, reducing the garment's carbon footprint. Our garments also use locally sourced recycled polyester made from plastic bottles. Diverting PET bottles for this process reduces landfill, and thus reduces soil contamination and requires less energy than virgin polyester. According to a 2017 report by the Textiles Exchange, organic cotton uses 91 per cent less ‘blue’ water (from groundwater and surface-water bodies, such as freshwater lakes and rivers) than conventional cotton.

Our Indian factory partner has implemented a number of initiatives to ensure they go above and beyond the required standards. These include reducing wastage, being 70% solar-powered and ensuring comfortable working conditions for staff. Our manufacturing partner is SA-8000 BSCI certified, which is an international standard for fair working conditions which includes no child labour, no forced labour, workplace safety and health, freedom of association and collective bargaining, working hours and HR management systems.

Sustainable Production

Prince Neptune: The Label garments bought from our website are shipped in branded, reusable organic cotton garment bags, and sent in biodegradable, compostable mailer bags.

Prince Neptune mailer bags and protective bags might look like plastic, but they are not! Unlike traditional shipping mailers, our mailers are made from mostly plant-based materials such as cornstarch polymer, an environmentally friendly bio-polymer made from the natural starch found in corn.

All of our packaging is biodegradable and compostable, including the garment bags, and as such our mailers have a ‘home compostable’ certification. Once you receive it, cut it up and put in a home-compost bin. Once composted properly, it takes about 3-4 months to break down into fertilizer for your garden.
